Real Robot, Real Arena, Real Growth
Some kids learn robotics. Ours compete with it. Spark Techies fields coach-led teams in four of the world’s biggest student robotics competitions — FLL, FTC, WRO, and VEX. Every team trains on real season challenges: designing, building, coding, and testing robots under real deadlines, then taking them to the arena. It’s project-based learning at maximum intensity — and one of the strongest things your child can put on a high school, university, or scholarship application.
The Leagues We Compete In
FIRST LEGO League (FLL) — The classic entry point. Teams build LEGO robots and program them to complete a themed season’s missions on a competition table, judged on robot design, innovation, and core values — not just matches. A perfect first competition, and the start of the Spark Techies pipeline.
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) — Bigger robots, real stakes. Teams design, build, and program metal, sensor-driven robots in Java or Blocks, then face off in timed alliance matches in an arena. An engineering team in miniature — roles, strategy, scouting, and pit crew included.
World Robot Olympiad (WRO) — The global stage. Students solve robotics missions and engineering challenges on official WRO fields, advancing from local rounds to national and world finals. Built for kids who love structured problem-solving and international competition.
VEX Robotics (VEX IQ & VEX V5) — Snap-together metal robots built for head-to-head games: VEX IQ for younger builders, VEX V5 for older engineers. Fast-paced alliance matches, a huge global ecosystem, and some of the biggest world championships in student robotics.
